Marcote UK is pleased to announce we have tripled our factory floor space and moved base to a new Cannock site.
Since our humble beginnings in the year 2000 Marcote UK has operated with great success from our Lichfield site. Starting the coating company with just a few, independent customers we have gone on to acquire successful contracts with international and blue chip companies and this motivated a yearlong search into finding the right premises for us to reboot our business from.
At the forefront of this relocation was the need to maintain in house talent so a local move was imperative and the improvement in space, facilities and morale has contributed massively to our team’s capabilities. Naturally, this year was a tricky time to make such a move and it was not without its obstacles. With renovations beginning just one week before the countries first lockdown we were faced with electrical wholesalers closing and contractors having to take emergency measures to ensure they were Covid-19 compliant. All works ground to a halt whilst the business focused on maintaining operations amid a global pandemic. Despite all of this we managed to safely execute the move and have been operational in our new site since July.
Tripling our floor space has allowed us to increase our output as we invested in a series of new spray booths and a bespoke grit blaster equipped to handle parts up to 4m long. In all we want this move to demonstrate that despite these extremely challenging times, the unknowns that are ahead of us and the economic instability the country faces Marcote UK is here, operational, and ready to work with you. In addition to our site move the business has undergone further changes with former Operations Director, Sam Woodcock being appointed Managing Director in February and the further appointment of Chandeep Uppal as Director. This has meant a reinvigorated approach to new coating applications, customer relations and research and development.
Despite this being an unpredictable year Marcote UK has welcomed fresh changes and we look forward to the new opportunities these will bring not only to us but our customers too.
